We chat with Morgan about inspiration, challenges, and all things Take Me Home Tonight. Q: Hi Morgan – I love reading your novels! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? A: "Hi Andrea! So excited to be chatting with you! I’m the YA author of 6 books (including TMHT). I’m originally from the East Coast (NYC and a town in Connecticut that Stanwich is based on) but now live in LA with my dog Murphy. Take Me Home Tonight is set over one-life changing night for best friends Kat and Stevie. They sneak away from the Connecticut suburbs to spend a night in NYC, but almost immediately, everything starts to go wrong. Between family drama, phone disasters, irascible cab drivers and unexpected Pomeranians, the two girls will have to learn how to navigate a night they never expected in the city that never sleeps. But by the end of the night – and over a series of misadventures – they’ll have become closer to each other – and closer to a truer version of themselves." We talk with Jennifer about inspiration, challenges, advice, and possible sequels! Q: Hi Jennifer – I really enjoyed reading your debut novel Of Silver and Shadow! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? A: "Thank you! I’m so glad you liked it! I was born and raised in Northern California and attended college at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I studied Communication and Professional Writing. Like a lot of writers, I’ve been writing since I was young. I attempted my first novel in the seventh grade, though I never did finish that particular endeavor. Throughout high school I continued to try my hand at creative writing but it wasn’t until my early twenties that I even considered the idea of pursuing it professionally. After college I worked as a journalist at a community newspaper for a couple years before moving to Charlotte, North Carolina. Now I work as a technical writer by day while writing and doing book promotion during the early mornings, late nights, and weekends. My cat, Mochi, keeps me company / brings my productivity levels way down by persistently trying to sit on my keyboard." We chat with Everina about science fiction, future projects, writing advice, and, of course, Winter’s Orbit. Q: Hi Everina – congratulations on publishing your debut novel: Winter’s Orbit! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? A: "I live in Yorkshire, where I write around the edges of my day job and don’t really go out otherwise. Sometimes I go for walks. I spent all of last winter convinced I could learn to identify every tree with a free app on my phone and I learned an important life lesson: trees are easier to identify in summer." Q: Hi David – I really enjoyed reading Super Fake Love Song! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? A: "Aw thank you! I had a ton of fun writing it. So about me: I’m the author of Frankly In Love, which came out last year and went on to hit the NYT bestseller list, win an APALA Honor, California Book Award, and Morris Honor. It’s been quite a ride! I’m also married to Nicola Yoon, who was the first black woman YA author to hit #1 on the NYT bestseller list and is my favorite writer anywhere. She and I started our own imprint recently called Joy Revolution that’s dedicated to love stories starring people of color—we’re super excited about that. We met during the MFA program at Emerson College in Boston. Go Lions! I’m pretty sure it’s lions?" (David Yoon 2020) Or copy & paste the following URL into your web browser:

To celebrate the release of Breathless, we chat with Jennifer Niven about writing, book recommendations, film adaptations, and all things Breathless. Q: Hi Jennifer – I am a big fan of your work! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself? A: "Thank you so much! I’m the author of ten books, including YA novels All the Bright Places, Holding Up the Universe, and the just released Breathless. I’ve been writing professionally for twenty-two years and first fell in love with writing when I was a child. My mom was also an author, and we had writing time every day, just as soon as I was old enough to pick up a pen. She was the first person who showed me the importance of opening your heart and writing yourself onto the page." (Jennifer Niven 2020) or copy & paste the following URL into your web browser:
