"Looking for Alaska" follows Miles a.k.a. Pudge during his first year at a new school. He quickly becomes friends with his roommate "the Colonel" and falls in love with the beautiful and daring Alaska Young (even though she already has a boyfriend); throughout the book, they get into all sorts of trouble together. I don't want to give too much away but, after a terrible accident, Pudge investigates in order to find out if the accident was truly an accident or if it was done on purpose. Why I chose this book... -The t.v. show that is based on this book (and shares the same name) is set to premiere this month -John Green is one of my favourite authors -It was easy to read and it was very engaging -The book is set up in a unique way: in the beginning, the chapters count down the days until the accident and the rest of the chapters count up the days after the accident Warning: this book looks at some deep topics including suicide and drunk driving Picture Citation: Amazon.ca Have a Happy and Safe Hallowe'en!!!
